## Description
POSITION SUMMARY
This is a technical position concentrating on the installation, maintenance and optimization of oilfield automation and communications systems. The position will require the individual to manage and assist field personnel, SCADA/IS department and engineering staff to implement and maintain a SCADA project in a field office and oilfield environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Installation, maintenance and troubleshoot wellsite automation and communication equipment
Determine requirements, specifications and make recommendations for communication and automation equipment
Configure PLC's, RTU's and other devices
Program PLC devices
General knowledge of oilfield operations including plunger lift operation
Train and assist field personnel on operation and maintenance of automation equipment
Develop scope of work to assess automation and communication projects for both internal company evaluation and for bidding equipment and services
Field contact for SCADA group and IS department
Supervise automation and communication contractor
Must be available for call-outs to attend to field service and emergency calls.
Expertise with RF Communications systems, conventional and Spread Spectrum and familiarity with TCP/IP and Modbus networking is preferred.

## Qualifications
PREREQUISITES
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years experience in oilfield automation preferred
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Capable of working effectively and willingly in a team environment
