5K a year 5 days ago 5 days ago 5 days ago Job Summary The Cement Dispatcher schedules and dispatches cement crews, equipment, and service vehicles to appropriate job locations; schedules and tracks equipment service; and communicates with customers or managers to answer questions, solve problems, and take equipment requests.
Responsibilities Ensure timely movement of equipment, personnel, and materials between the cement yard and job location Schedule or dispatch cement crews, equipment, and service vehicles to appropriate job locations Use information from work orders to determine types of equipment, vehicles, materials, or personnel required at job locations Communicate with customers and managers to answer questions about equipment location, take equipment requests, or determine equipment service needs Relay received work orders, messages, or information to work crews, supervisors, and relevant personnel Record work orders, service requests, services performed, customer requests, location of equipment, and other necessary information into Excel call log Schedule equipment service and track repairs Maintain constant awareness of location of equipment and personnel Advise personnel about traffic problems, construction areas, accidents, weather conditions, or other hazards that may be encountered while traveling to job location Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required safety training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Other duties assigned Previous dispatch experience preferred High School diploma or GED Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to accurately take in and relay relevant information Personable, customer service oriented, able to communicate in a friendly manner with clients or employees Able to give locational directions, track GPS data, and read a map Organized with good time management skills Critical thinker, able to determine priority requests Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications, specifically Excel, and able to quickly learn other work related software Must be available to work a rotating shift from days to night Physical Demands The physical demands described here represent those required for an employee to successfully perform the role's essential functions.
