Summary:
SONOGRAPHER FUNCTIONS ASA HEALTHCARE PROVIDER WORKING UNDER A SUPERVISING PHYSICIAN, SERVES AS A MEDICAL IMAGING PROFESSIONAL WHO PROVIDES CLINICALLY RELEVANT INFORMATION TO ASSIST THE PHYSICIAN WITH THE DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF PATIENTS.
Essential Functions:

Review patient medical history and supporting clinical information.

Ensure that the sonography examination order is complete contains relevant information, and meets standards of medical necessity.
.
Adhere to accepted professional and ethical standards.
Maintain patient privacy, (HIPPA).
.
Provide patient services consistent with scope of practice and clinical standards for diagnostic sonography.
ADDITIONAL
Responsibilities:
Ensure that the ultrasound equipment is functioning accurately.
Support the interpreting physician by contributing technical impressions and professional knowledge to facilitate the completion of the final diagnostic report.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITIES:
Demonstrates competency in the specialty area(s) to be performed, including sonography certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
Assist with the pursuit and maintenance of cutting edge technical and clinical updates.

MINIMUM POSITION
Qualifications:
Education ARDMS Work Experience Minimum of one year experience after graduation from an accredited Sonography school.
Training Keep up with the annual CEUs post certification.
License/Certification ARDMS and Cardiovascular Credentialing ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Work environment consists of daily patient contact, which may include exposure to blood, or other body fluids.
